Principal Mechatronics Engineer

Hands-on technical leadership role owning precision automation for optical manufacturing
Requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field and 8+ years of experience designing electromechanical systems
Deep experience with motion control and controls design required, with robotics experience preferred

Join our engineering team and lead the design of the automation that handles our precision optical components. You will set technical direction, own projects from concept through build, installation, and commissioning, and create compact, accurate mechanisms and the controls that run them. This role requires someone who is comfortable making architecture decisions and working hands-on at the machine, and who enjoys seeing a design run in production.

We are seeking a seasoned mechanical or mechatronic engineer with a proven track record of delivering small, high-precision moving systems and the control architecture behind them. 10+ years of experience is preferred. Familiarity with metrology systems is desired, and experience with robotics is a strong plus. The ideal candidate is a practical problem solver who works closely with our software and manufacturing teams to make production more efficient and reliable. Experience in optics, thin-film coatings, or other precision manufacturing is also a plus.
